Thanks for lending a hand
Perhaps the visit by some alumnus to FGCI in May 2010 gave the drive to do all that could be done to ensure that they organized a forum to seriously brainstorm on what to do to help revamp our great School and contribute their quota to educating the youth who would be the leaders of our beloved Nigeria in the near future.
It has however been distressing to see the decay in the School.
A very dear and passionate alumni one said,
"I am Grateful that I did not go to a school with such a low standard that I would not be able to complete in the outside world. This reminds me of someone who was asked in a secondary school to use the word “go” in a sentence. He immediately blurted out….”I dey go”. The teacher said “common correct yourself’. Then the student answered “O.K. I no dey go again”. Definitely not Federal Government College llorin!!!!".
We would like to thank the Executives of the FGC Ilorin old students Association, the Lagos, Abuja, Portharcourt and Ilorin Chapters as well as our folks in the Diaspora, e.t.c. for their words of encouragement and even sometimes words laced with apprehension which only drive us to do more!
The question at this point is…what next?? -This is the time for us to give back to F.G.C Ilorin by making our contribution to the development of the School and also to work towards helping each other whenever we have the opportunity to do so.
Following the simple principle of strength in number, the sky is no longer the limit as we shoot for the moon.
With the Executives who will run the National Association with effect from the 13th November, 2010; we believe God's guidance will take the Association to higher Height we truly desire.
