The Association is the People
Federal Government College Ilorin, founded in February 1973 with a total of 145 students has grown to produce forerunners in the Nigerian economy, public and private sector, with individuals that are growing in influence and impacting on lives in varying manner, through their professional contribution and the civil society.
The products of the school have come together to form an association whose primary concern is to form a platform for networking and connecting with one another to improve the quality of lives and set high standards for a worthy social course.
The association has evolved over the years and is coming of age; we have had various executives who will be remembered for their good works during their administrations. The efforts of the executives in keeping the association functional cannot be overemphasized. Their works have inspired quite a number of old students and has geared them towards taking up responsibilities to see to the continuous running of the association.
There have been changes in administration from time to time; the association recently elected new members of executives who intend to take the association to new heights. The executive members believe that the essence of the association is the composition of its people; who have recognized that the “association is the people”, as opposed to the infrastructure in Ilorin representing who we are and what we gather for.
With the view that our grouping as old students broadly falls along these categories:
• Students(
o Undergraduates and postgraduates.
)
• Business owners (
o Start ups
o Mid stream
o Mature)
• Corporate individuals (
o Entry level
o Middle management.
o Executives at various levels of their career.)
We have been able to identify the needs of our people and have come up with strategies to ensuring everyone fits in, irrespective of their ages and status. We believe the association is a communal entity where we share ideas, our nostalgias and connecting with one another for collective development of its people. Knowing that the more we grow as a community, the more we can give back to our GREAT SCHOOL collectively.
We therefore implore you to come join us in making Federal Government College Ilorin Old Students’ Association a renowned association, taking giant strides in achieving positive results and leaving footprints in the lives of the PEOPLE.
Thank you.
